Welcome to Carleen Village Hall
The Hall was opened in 2001.
It was the idea of some of the locals to get together to form a committee and then dedicated themselves to raising funds. Historically a gentleman in the village had donated some land to support the men coming back from the war and the sale of this land formed the basis of the fund raising. The Hall is successful with a variety of events, bookings and clubs and the current committee works hard to ensure the hall is maintained and busy.
It is situated in the heart of Carleen on the site of the original Mens’ Snooker Club and still houses the original snooker table, supported by an active Snooker Club. The area itself is steeped in the Cornish Mining History and culture. There are many lovely off the road walks from the Hall into surrounding countryside.
It is an ideal hall to host events, parties weddings, celebrations and other events. It has regular club bookings and is well supported by the local community.
The Hall, itself, is an inviting space. Large enough for big parties, but it also lends itself to any event. There are a selection of chairs and tables and a very friendly caretaker who will take care of any of your needs. There is a huge parking area, fully equipped kitchen, central heating, baby changing facilities, Wifi and a Hearing Loop for those who struggle to hear. We do also have staging.
We are always happy to show you around the hall, we are very proud of it and love seeing it used and busy.
Already the Hall hosts a number of weekly, well established clubs such as an Art Club, Short Mat Bowling, Table Tennis, Yoga, Bingo and Quilting Groups. We are always looking for new members and contact details are available if you fancy giving one a try. The Hall is also available for hire for private events.
The Committee welcomes new members and new ideas, so please contact us if you are interested in becoming part of the Carleen Village Hall.
